After meditating for years, I started to study Shaila Catherine's books on the jhanas about a year ago. I achieved some deep states of concentration but nothing like piti, as described there--roughly, a sensation of all-pervasive pleasure brought on by meditation. In other words, I wasn't doing it right, since piti is an essential component of the first and second jhanas. Now after reading Leigh Brasington's instructions for the access concentration and the first jhana, I have finally achieved the first jhana for the first time. (as Brasington says, if you wonder whether you have achieved the first jhana, you almost certainly haven't. After trying his instructions, I was no longer wondering. ) The difference seems to lie in Brasington's instruction to concentrate on a feeling of pleasure after achieving access concentration. This is different from concentration on a 'nimitta', as advised by Catherine, since a nimitta can be a wide variety of things.
This is not to say that I no longer value Catherine's books. Her second one ('Wisdom Wide and Deep'), in particular, is extremely detailed and scholarly and includes a wealth of practices not covered by Brasington. I now intend to go back and study Catherine again, to see how significant the differences in the two approaches really are. But Brasington's acceso worked for me whereas Catherine's did not.

Co2 concentration photosynthesis cannabis, how does co2 work for plants?

Todo sobre co2 concentration photosynthesis cannabis

Plants extract co2 from the atmosphere via the plants stomates, which are the pores that plants “breathe” through. Photosynthesis begins primero the plant uses co2 in combination with light bulbs or light from the sun to produce both sugar and oxygen. The sugar is used by the plant to grow while the oxygen is released back into the atmosphere.

Increasing co2 levels in your cannabis garden will allow your plants to create more energy – if you provide adequate lighting as well. Again, light is the second requirement to create energy for your plants, meaning you must match your co2 levels with your lighting. However, before we dive into how this is done, there are a number of other considerations to make before investing in a co2 system.

Who should use co2 systems for cannabis?

The benefits of introducing co2 into a grow space are well known and widely accepted. However, if youre a novice grower and/or under a tight budget, there might be a number of ways for you to initially increase your yields before investing in a costly co2 system. Make sure you first know how to:

If you have a handle on the above points, you should be ready to try increasing your yields using added co2.

A short day, high dli plant

Since cannabis is a highly versatile crop valued for its flowers, maximizing fl oral biomass and understanding the photoperiod thresholds (see figure 1) for cannabis has been my primary focus over the last few months. This is because cannabis takes on more light than any other flowering plant i have worked with in the past. And the cultivation of the plant is just the beginning of the crops productization as dried flower, extract or oil which requires a thorough understanding of plant maturation and the necessary treatments just prior to harvest.

The most noteworthy aspect of how cannabis differs from typical greenhouse plants is how the plant thrives under high-intensity light. Cannabis is one of the few plants which flourish under more than novecientos cincuenta to mil doscientos photosynthetic photon flux density (ppfd) in full bloom, i. E. , cuarenta y uno to 51 daily light total (dli). However, several factors in a controlled, sole-source lighting environment need to be optimized to transition a cannabis plant to this level of high intensity lighting — we call this transition process “photoacclimation. ” during the early stages of growth — propagation and vegetative growth — cannabis plants can require some of the dli levels the plant will experience during its life cycle, but with the long, dieciocho-hour photoperiod, the dli is relatively easy to achieve at low light levels.

After this vegetative bulking period, the reduction to 12-hour photoperiods during the reproductive growth stage can confuse the need to still maintain relatively high dli levels during this stage of growth. While dli requirements dip to a degree, the loss of the six additional hours of light should not be dismissed; growers who do not account for this change will see poor yields in terms of flowering productivity. This is why high-intensity ppfd lighting is especially important during the bloom stage. Some growers assume the same supplemental or primary lighting can be used for every stage of growth. Th is has led to bad experiences with some led systems, which were not designed to
Provide enough photons to promote efficient photosynthesis during a short

Cannabis can be photoacclimated at such a pace that you can reach extremely high levels of ppfd near the tail-end of the bloom growth stage (see figure 1). Even then, it is critical to administer this level of high-intensity light in short, 12-hour cycles to ensure the plant receives full and uninterrupted cycles of darkness to properly develop its reproductive organs, e. G. , flowers for cannabis. These light intensity levels will ensure the plant hits the proper dli, so it will produce yields to its fullest potential, which is one of the most important factors many new growers underestimate when first taking on a new cannabis strain.
